appetite for awesome?

loving the drama of these pendant lamps. just enough feminine and just enough masculine. neither tomboy nor drag queen. home described by julie from remodelista as “darkly glamorous.” well said.

eat it

what came first: sloppy joe or the manwich? not sure i care. just trying to figure out who i should credit for the inspiration. here's my version. so simple. and healthier than the original.

1 lb. ground turkey
1 medium onion (optional)
1 tablespoon mucky duck mustard
1 tablespoon worcestershire
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
3/4 cup of ketchup
1 teaspoon salt

brown the turkey. drain the fat. add the remaining ingredients. simmer until the flavors become buddies. scoop to buns. eat your heart out. serves 4.

twist of fate

simple twisted construction paired with this drapey, stripey scarf. we are meant to be. it's true love.

this combo is perfectly versatile for me. with a tank and jeans for a hot date with my squeeze. out and about with a v-neck tee. over a dress or with a skirt for work. it's simple and polished.

the suspense is killing me and it's only been an hour since i ordered them. jeez. i'm probably going back for the gray one as well.

bridge to the dark crystal.

gorgeous bridges are literally grown from the living roots of an indian rubber tree. the bridges are so strong, some can hold the weight of 50 people. (or the equivalent of one american)

somewhere down the road.

this is a map. but not really a map. it's just roads. single lines for every one of the 26 million road segments in the lower 48. crazy shit. alaska is apparently impossible to distinguish because they don't have enough border roads.

our house is in that mess of fuzzy detroit tumor.

in the future they have jets.

see...
a jet exiting a wormhole.
actually this is a real photograph unretouched. it's an F-18 flying over detroit. the fuzzy butt that it's flying out of is called a vapor cone. but we can pretend it's a wormhole right?

save some green

did you know that green onions will re-grow if kept in a little water? skeptical at first, we ran a test in the lab (ok, kitchen). success rate: 100%.

snip off what you need, leaving about an inch or so above the white bulb. plunk it in a little water. voila. brand new growth in no time. like magic. more like science, i suppose.

how to pick up robot biker chicks.

i don't ride motorcycles. this kinda makes me want to. the only problem is... if flying robot battleships aren't shooting lasers at you, you're gonna look a little dumb. too terminator-y.

the design is absolutely fantastic though, which is really no surprise. confederate has been tapping their time machine for a while now. check out their other bikes if you plan on mad maxing your way through australia anytime soon.

contain yourself

my dearest graph paper, i love you and all your balanced proportions. sigh.

i found this graph paper zippie impossible to resist. and it arrived lickety-split. perfectly stitched oilcloth. now in cahoots with my (often dangerous) bag.
